Polar Express

Sunday we went to the Calera train station and rode the Polar Express. I encourage everyone to go and experience this trip. It was amazing. At one point in the night I realized I was squealing just like the kids. Katie loved it! I was surprised because I thought she really would not care one way or the other. Here are some pictures of our evening. Thanks
to Kayla and Scarlet I was able to have some pictures!

Terrible News

For all of you blog fans I have some bad news. My camera was washed in the washing machine. I am not going to point any fingers at anyone but it was not me. :) So therefore I am not able to take pictures or video and it is very sad to me. Tonight Katie stood on her own for the first time and I am sad to say there is no video of it. Hopefully Santa will bring me a new one. 19 days is a long time to be without a camera though. Anyway, Katie is doing great. She loves all of the Christmas lights. We decorated a small tree this year with "Baby's First Christmas" ornaments my friend Sonia bought for her. She loves looking at the ornaments and the lights. Hopefully we will be up and running soon enough with pictures.

Cute Videos

My baby loves Christmas lights. She loves music and she also loves to dance. Here are some cute videos.

Updates -- 10 1/2 months

Here are some recent pictures. Katie and Cole played together while the moms went shopping. Shannon had his birthday on November 11th. We celebrated at the mexican restaurant. As you can see Katie did not like the hat at all! Also Shannon redid our garage. He sheetrocked and redid the floor! Katie has been having bathroom problems. It has been going on for about 2 1/2 weeks. We have tried everything ...even a trip to the doctor. I have never been so happy today when Kayla told me she pooped 4 times. Miralax is a miracle! Wow never thought I would be so excited about poop! Katie finally has a new tooth, but I can't get a picture of it. She puts her tongue down so you can't see it. I found it because she bit me. It felt like a puppy tooth. She wants to walk so bad. She is very busy!

Bumper Cars

Katie loves her walker. At first she just went in reverse but now she tries to go as fast as she can and run into things. I am now scared for the day she turnes 16!

Santa

I know it has been awhile for pictures and I promise I will post some soon. A few things that have been going on though. Katie got her pictures taken with Santa today. I was afraid she would be scared and cry...instead she LOVED him. I can't wait to get the pictures back. She has had a hard time pooping. Never thought that would be a topic of conversation, but it seems that is all we are talking about these days. I have never been so excited to change a poopie diaper. Life really does change when you have kids. She is trying to talk now. I promise she says.."I love you" . It is in her language but it is clear enough to hear. The doctor is my witness because she told her the other day when we were there. She still does not have a tooth in her mouth but that does not stop her from eating whatever she wants. I am so excited about Christmas. I can't wait to decorate the house and start shopping! I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year. I know we will. We have been so blessed this past year!

Halloween!

Well we celebrated Katies first Halloween. It really started a week and a half ago. We started at our fall festival at school..then trunk or treat at church, and then finally tonight we had another fall festival at a friends house. We did not go trick-or-treating this year because it was too cold. Instead we went to Target and out to eat. It was nice because no one was out. Tonight Shannon and I dressed up at the last minute for this party. We were Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Cat in the Hat. Katie of course was still a Lady Bug. She was not a happy camper all night as you can tell from some of the pictures. She has not been herself lately. She is either getting sick or finally getting a tooth. I am not sure which one. She is also crawling everywhere now. She loves the hardwood floor...she likes so spin around on her bottom. She and daddy have a new game. CHASE! This is funny now but I know it will come back to bite him later. Oh well I guess we will cross that bridge when we come to it. We are eating crow these days. We always said we would never let our child sleep in the bed with us. I never thought I could, but we have been letting her sleep with us. She sleeps better in our bed and we sleep better. I know we have to get her used to her crib, but she just does not like it. She loves our bed and I love my sleep. This time is so much fun with her. I am so excited about Thanksgiving and Christmas. I just thank God everyday for my little blessing from above.

Fits

Katie has been throwing fits lately. Is it too early to hit the terrible two's at 9 months? I think we might be there. The fit today was so funny to me so I had to film it. Of course she was not a happy camper. Tonight Katie got to go to her first fall festival. She was Katie Bug the Lady Bug. I hope I get better pictures on Halloween but at least you can see her costume. (I took some as we were getting ready.) Enjoy!

FINALLY!!!!!!!!

After many attempts Katie can finally crawl. She is like a turtle but that is ok. We are so happy. In one week she started dancing, holding her bottle, clapping, waving bye bye, and finally crawling. Here is a short video to prove it.

9 Month Check-UP

Wow...9 months! We went to the doctor today to have her check up. Katie weighs 21lbs and 14 oz. She is 28 1/2 inches long. She is perfect. She had her iron checked and it was great. Some babies have to take drops to make their iron go up, but she was good. She got a flu shot and then two other shots. She only cried for a minute and as soon as I picked her up she was fine. Dr. Hardy told me she could eat whatever even scrambled eggs. She is sooooo tired of eating oatmeal in the mornings. She will still eat her veggies but now we can try all kinds of new foods. We also get to put her into a big girl car seat. Luckily my friend Elissa had one for me to use.
I have decided now that Katie will be a LadyBug fo Halloween. I have her costume and it is so cute. Pictures will be coming soon.

Pumpkin Patch

This weekend was great! Adam, Regan, and Jason came home for a visit. Adam's birthday is in November but he won't be here to celebrate. I decided to have a surprise party for him. We went to the pumpkin patch and then came back to the house to have a party. He was so excited! I haven't seen him since July and he has grown so much since then. Katie absolutely loves him. She would just stare at him and then reach for him. It was bitter sweet though. I did not get enough of him. He is leaving in the morning but hopefully get to come down on his Christmas break. Katie had a blast at the pumpkin patch and the party. She did not take a nap that day until about 2. There was way too much to look at. I am afraid she is getting sick. She is acting "off" today. We went to moms to have Thanksgiving also today since Adam, Regan, and Jason wont' be here. We were able to get a family shot with everyone! Katie was 9 months old Friday. We will go Tuesday for a check up. I am afraid of what she will weigh!!!!!

First Football Game

This weekend we went to Memphis to see my nephew Andrew play football. For those of you who don't know he plays for Washington University in St. Louis. (V.P. debates were held at his school.) Anyway we left Friday afternoon and got to Memphis around 7. Katie had many firsts this weekend. As soon as we got to the hotel my brother took her to the hotel bar while I got ready for dinner. We went to downtown Memphis and ate at Rendevouz if anyone knows about that place. Famous for their ribs. We went back to the hotel and got to visit with Andrew. At midnight Katie finally crashed. That was her first time to stay up that late and sleep in a hotel. The next morning we went to breakfast in the hotel and Katie made friends with everyone there. She was smiling and waving at everyone! It was also her first time to eat biscuit and gravy. She is definately my child because she LOVED it. Later that morning we took off to Rhodes College to tailgate before the game. (Another first for Katie) I was a little worried but it was great. We spread out a blanket in the shade and she played and again made friends with everyone. We went to the game and for the first quarter she payed attention to the game. She was having a blast. Now remember she did not go to bed until midnight and at this point had not had a nap and it was 3. At halftime we decided to leave. Katie slept 4 out of the 4 1/2 hours home. It was fun to see everyone. Here are some pictures. The stone buildings are buildings at the campus of Rhodes College. It was absolutely breathtaking. Back to work tomorrow! Yuck. Oh also Adam is coming home this weekend. I can't wait to see him. We are going to the pumpkin patch and having an early birthday party for him since he won't be here for his birthday.

Long TIme Coming

Sorry it has been so long. Working is making my life crazy. Katie is doing great. She is not crawling but she gets where she wants to be in her own way. She loves to stand and hold on to things. She also loves to throw. I am already thinking she will be a softball pitcher. Here are a few pictures and video from the past couple of weeks. I will publish more pictures after this weekend. We will be heading to Memphis to see my nephew play football for Washinton University in St. Louis. I asked him if he was going to the VP debate tongiht but he said they only gave 50 student tickets by lottery. Oh well maybe next time. Enjoy!

Trying so hard!

Katie is trying so hard to crawl. It is just hard for a big girl. She had a new monkey that sings to her and for some reason she likes to hit his head. I have video! He makes her mad. We are finally over the ear infection. We went for a check on her ears and they weighed her.....21lbs. and 2oz. We are on our own this weekend. Daddy is in Canada for the second time in two weeks. We are learning how to live on our own. We are headed to cousin Braxtons 1st Birthday party today. He is the first to turn one out of the five that were born last year. I can't believe Katie will be having her 1st in January. Where does the time go. This morning I laid in bed and listenend to her in her crib. She was having a serious conversation with her mobile. I just thanked God for giving me such a wonderful blessing. I hope everyone has a great weekend. Enjoy!

WAR EAGLE!

This weekend Katie was an official Auburn fan. She was ready to cheer the Tigers on to victory. The only problem was that we could not watch it on tv. We had to watch the Alabama game instead. There is a picture of us watching and to me it looks like she is going to sleep. You can come to your own conclusion. Her daddy wanted to know where her Alabama outfit was, but we don't have any.
