So Busy!

Things have been so busy lately. I really don't know what I did with all of my time before Katie came along. I thought I was busy then but no way. Katie has basically skipped the walking stage and is now running everywhere. Shannon thought it would be fun to play chase and now that is all we do.
Katie is into everything and on everything. She is a climber. The other night mom kept her while we went out with some friends. Mom was wiping off the table. She turned around and Katie had managed to get the dishwasher open. She was standing in it, pulled out the top rack, and was rearranging the cups. The other night she had climbed up on the side table and was playing with the answering machine. She is a mess but so much fun right now.
We had our first experience with '"blood" the other night. She fell and sat down hard. She started crying and her mouth was filling with blood. I was a nervous wreck. I scooped her up and was literally walking in circles trying to figure out what to do. (Shannon was still at work) All of a sudden I thought...Popsicle! (for those of you that don't know I always have popsicles in my fridge for kids that come over) I gave her one...it stopped the crying, bleeding, and the panic. I was able to see just a little nick on the tip of her tongue...but it sure did bleed a lot. I figured out I am not great in emergencies.
Katie is now calling Shannon mommy. It is very funny. She is mimicking a lot of what we are doing. Her hair is a mess. It is straight and I can't do much with it. I am finally able to pull it up on top of her head. I love it but as soon as she realizes it is there she pulls it out. It is a constant battle.
I have posted a few pictures and video. Let me assure you that in the video when she falls it is her hand that hits the table. It sound awful and it looks like her head but it wasn't. As you will see in the video I thought it was bad, but turned out to be ok. I have a feeling we will be headed to the ER before the year is up. She is a clumsy daredevil!
